Year of the Pig parade was in Chinatown on February 17, 2019. The parade has been an annual tradition with dignitaries including Senator Chuck Schumer, colorful costumes and Chinese lion/dragon dances. The parade went from Mott and Canal to Chatham Square, headed East Broadway towards the Manhattan Bridge. The parade wrapped up beside Sara D. Roosevelt Park.
New York City Chinese Lunar New Year Parade 20th Annual Chinatown brought in thousands of people to celebrate. Many Kung Fu students did the Lion dances with the colorful costumes. One to two controlling the front of the Lion and one Kung Fu controlling the back. Dragon dances performed by acrobat troupes lifting the dragon above their heads and running with it through the route.
