New York – Over a million people gathered for watching the ball drop at Times Square, New York City. Some people had been waiting since early in the morning to maintain a spot for watching the performances and embrace the arrival of 2020.
Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve televised the event as performances continued through the night. Colorful balloons were handed out for everyone to celebrate and the traditional Planet Fitness hats were worn.
Safety precautions were followed at checkpoints by limiting size of bags, no umbrellas-alcohol or coolers. Times Square was blocked off at 4 AM to vehicular traffic as barriers were set up for maintaining crowds.
The Waterford Crystal Ball dropped along with a ton of colorful confetti. The evening was completed with the traditional song; Auld Lang Syne, It’s a Wonderful World, Oh beautiful for spacious skies and more.
