The 93rd Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was given the green light to allow the balloons remain inflated for the parade. The floats were held down because of the concern of the wind. Millions of people lined the parade route from 77 Street to Central Park, Columbus Circle and up to Macy’s Herald Square.
The handlers ranged in large numbers as they maintained control of the balloons as they came down the route. As many as 90 handlers walked the parade with each of the balloons such as SpongeBob, Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham as well as many others. The parade had floats, bands, performers; Jimmy Fallon, Celine Dion, Black Eyed Peas and more. The iconic presence of Santa Claus and his elves ended the parade.
