The 15thAnnual Marathon on Saturday morning will start off at the Fargodome – Fargo, ND at 7 AM with the full marathon, followed by the half-marathon. The Press Conference hosted by Mark Knutson, director of the Sanford Health Fargo Marathon thanked the volunteers that have helped in making the week a well-organized event. Also, appreciation of the sponsor Sanford Health with all their support with every event ranging through the week of the children events to the full marathon. Weather may be a factor with the possibility of rain but hopes are that this would hold off until after the race.
Mayor Tim Mahoney spoke about the adjustments on the race route after the flood and the positive that the Marathon brings to the community. The First winners of the Fargo Marathon in 2005 have returned to run the course another time. Scott Jansky and Cindy Lewandowski were the first male and female marathon winners. A Florida couple will be exchanging their vows at the Marathon starting line; Edward Broadnax and Bonnie Lee.
