The Westminster Kennel Club’s Agility competition Saturday evening in New York City was won by “Verb” a Border Collie from Wyncote, Pennsylvania. Verb won the obstacle course in 32.05 seconds taking home the Masters Agility Champion. Perry DeWitt was Verb’s Handler. The Westminster Kennel Club donated $5,000 in honor of Verb to an American Kennel Club training club of DeWitt’s choice or the AKC Humane Fund.
Speed, accuracy running through tunnels, jumping, weaving was the competition of 330 dogs at the 2019 Westminster Masters Agility Championship at Piers 92 and 94 Saturday in New York. The Westminster’s Agility Competition allows mixed-breed dogs to compete and call the dogs competing “All-American Dogs.” The best All-American Dog took the title in 37.99 seconds and was a mixed-breed Australian cattle dog named “Plop” and Handler Lisa Topol.
8-Inch Division 1stplacement Call Name “Gabby” was a Papillon with Handler Andrea Samuels. 12-Inch Division 1stplacement Call Name “Pixel” a Miniature American Shepherd with Handler Ami Sheffield. 16-Inch Division 1stplacement Call Name “Pink” was a Border Collie with Handler Jennifer Crank, 20-Inch Division 1stplacement Call Name “Verb” was a Border Collie with Handler Perry DeWitt and 24-Inch Division 1stplacement “Harley” an All-American Dog with Handler Erin Stumler.
The 2019 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show’s main event will be Monday and Tuesday, February 11 and 12. The Piers 92 and 94 will be the daytime competition with the evening’s finals being held at Madison Square Garden with Best in Show award on the Final Evening February 12.
