NYC – Rallies reached across the world in over 600 locations. New York City had over 400,000 marchers on the route that began at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza to midtown Manhattan. The speakers that were at the beginning of the route included NYC First Lady Chirlane McCray. The crowd surpassed the expectant numbers that were projected when the parade was being coordinated. Over 20 countries participated in the march creating numbers
over a million. Men, women and children all joined in expressing their concerns over policies through signs, music and chants. Democracy was exemplified through the participants marching. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio thanked everyone for a peaceful march where there were no arrests in NYC.
