Monday morning competition got the green flag to move forward and off field balloonists began to ascend on to the field to compete with the targets on the field.
The night before was filled with rain so the areas to lay out the balloons were wet but that didn’t stop the balloons on the field to prepare to launch before the competitors arrived from off the field. Hundreds of balloonists participated from all directions creating a beautiful picturesque in Albuquerque. After the competition was over on the northeast side were some impressive cloud formations that shortly disappeared but left a beautiful wrap to a positive morning of ballooning. Tuesday will be another day of competition for balloonists who are participating as well as launches off the field for balloonists with weather expected to be positive for launch.
