A week long of events has brought out thousands of people to participate in the Fargo Marathon. Mark Knutson, founder of the Marathon, Nate White, Sanford Chief Operating Officer and Chuck Engle, held Friday’s conference. Over 7,000 signed on for the 5K on Friday night.
Mark Knutson said the great level of sponsors with the local city officials, Sanford Medical and Scheels were among the loyal backers. Knutson said that what is important is at “the end of the day was to put on a good event.” Chuck Engle is on his third round of running all 50 states. After Saturday’s race Engle will have nine states left to complete the third time of covering all the states. Earlier in the week 550 dogs and people entered the Fargo Dog Run, Youth Run had 400, the bike event had 450. Saturday run is expected to be on the cold side with wind but the rain will be finished before the morning sunrise. The participants for 10K – 3,500, Half 4,500, Full 1,750 and Relay 600.
