New York – Fame(US) a black and white border collie won The Westminster Kennel Club agility championship on Saturday evening at the Piers in New York. Jessica Ajoux is the handler from Sparta, New Jersey had Fame jumping into her arms as the crowd roared in excitement to their finish. Fame(US) pronunciation is “famous.”
Agility was added to The Westminster Kennel Club in 2014 that allowed mixed-breed dogs to enter with 29 competing in this year’s competition with a total of 330 dogs. A full day of competition was held at the Piers with the finalists ending the evening. Right behind Fame(US) a Chihuahua-terrier named Jefe was the top agility dog that was a mixed breed.
Monday opens with 2,882 entries for the 142nd Westminster Kennel Club show at Madison Square Garden. Tuesday evening will feature the finale with the Top in Show to be announced.
