Health officials in Minnesota are warning people who may have come in contact with a confirmed case of measles.
The non-Minnesota resident who had measles traveled through the Winona and Albert Lea area on April 13 and 16. Anyone who went to retail locations in those areas could be exposed. The virus can stay in the air for two hours after the infected person leaves.
People are urged to watch for symptoms which could include fever, cough, runny nose, watery eyes and a rash.
Measles can be prevented with a vaccine. If you’re unsure whether you have been vaccinated, you’re urged to call your healthcare provider.
