Las Vegas, Nevada – Recently, I wrote about wraps and their use in the automotive industry. I also included the cost associated with applying and removing. While attending this year’s SEMA, I was impressed by the number of Tesla Cybertrucks on display, nearly all of which had creative wraps. See photos for examples.
Presently, Tesla offers their trucks in a stainless steel finish only and many owners differentiate their cybertrucks using wraps. November 11th, I came across an article in Torque News, written by Tensae Aregay, that should serve as a precaution to Cybertruck owners interested in removing their wraps. According to Aregay, the stainless steel surfaces show discolored blemishes after removal. However, there was no follow-up if the stainless steel surfaces could be restored. Also, it would be interesting to know if Tesla dealers or wrap shops warn of this possibility. Any expense to restore the surface would be added to the wrap removal cost of $500 to $600. An alternative might be to just install a new wrap.
