New York City – New York City held the 263rd Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 16, 2024. The parade took place along Fifth Avenue from 44thStreet and ending at 8th Street. Nearly 2 million spectators lined the Avenue. Manhattan’s parade is one of the world’s largest Irish Parade.
The parade marched up 5th Avenue to pass by Saint Patrick Cathedral and reviewed by His Eminence, Timothy M. Dolan Cardinal, Archbishop of New York. Mass was performed at 8:30 am at Saint Patrick Cathedral by His Eminence Timothy M. Dolan before the parade began at 11:00am.
The Grand Marshal was Maggie Timoney, Irish-born Heineken USA CEO. The parade consists of 250,000 marchers consisting of bagpipers, bands, dignitaries, police, military and many more. Saint Patrick for 2024 fell on Sunday March 17; the parade was moved to Saturday March 16, 2024.
