New York City: December began with all types of Holiday gathering with family and friends celebrating together. Weather held warm for the Christmas Day in New York City as services throughout the city took place amongst the parishes celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.
St Patrick’s Cathedral held nine masses on Christmas Day. The church seating was filled to capacity as well as many people were standing to hear the Archbishop of New York, Timothy Cardinal Dolan speak about “Christmas is a day of surprise —we have a God that love’s surprises.”
Just down the block was the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree that was beautifully lit for the holidays. Horse drawn carriages passed by the church down Fifth Avenue with people embracing the celebration.
