New York City – The weather was great for the 97th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The streets were packed with spectators from beginning to end. There were 25 balloons, 11 marching bands, 31 floats, hundreds of clowns and star-studded performances that included Cher, Rockettes and Santa Claus topping the celebration.
There were seven new character balloons within the 25 balloons. New to this year: Beagle Scout Snoopy, Blue Cat and Chugs from Cool Cats, Po from “Kung Fu Panda,” LEO from an upcoming animated film, Monkey D. Luffy from “One Piece,” Uncle Dan from “Migration,” plus, a new Pillsbury Doughboy balloon.
There was a brief interruption for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade when Pro-Palestinian protesters forced themselves on to the parade route at West 45 St.
