Fargo, ND – The Fargo Dome was filled with thousands of runners for the Essentia Health Fargo Marathon. This was the 19th annual run for the Fargo Marathon. The weather was beautiful with cool early morning temperature and minimal wind.
Abraham Talam Kipkemei from Kenya won the 19th Marathon with just over 2 hours and 19 minutes. Sadie Smith from St. Louis won the women’s division in 2 hours, 5 minutes.
Nadir Yusuf from Wilmar Minn. native and former Minnesota State Moorhead track and field alumus won the half-marathon 13.1 mile course in 1 hour, 4 minutes and 10 seconds. Maddie Van Beek won the women’s half-marathon in 1 hour and 17 minutes.
Munir Isahak won the men’s 10k division in 31 minutes and 26 seconds. Bridget Henne, a Fargo native won the women’s in a bit over 39 minutes.
Mark Knutson is Fargo Marathon’s executive director. The Fargo Marathon race is a USATF-qualified course, so marathon finish times can be used to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
