Queen Elizabeth II was laid to rest Monday after 10 days of mourning. All across Britain there was 2 minutes of silence observed in honor of Queen Elizabeth II. More than 100 dignitaries from around the world attended the funeral at Westminster Abbey including President and Mrs. Biden.
The funeral procession route was lined with tens of thousands of people. Flowers filled the path as the queen’s coffin was driven to Windsor Castle. Queen Elizabeth II was buried next to her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip at the King George VI Memorial Chapel in Windsor Castle.
The archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, delivered the sermon. Charles III left a note on the top of the coffin of his mom, Queen Elizabeth II. 70 years ago Queen Elizabeth II took the throne and was the longest reigning monarch in British history. Queen Elizabeth II was 96 years old and ascended the throne at 25.
