Remembering Bobby Vee – The Killer Vees

The Historic Holmes Theatre in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota was packed with fans to hear music by the late Bobby Vee that was performed throughout the world for over 52 years. The Killer Fees touring group formed 2008 and has performed across the country consisting of Jeff & Tommy Vee, Matt and wife Julie Vee, Bobby Vee’s grandson Bennett Vee; lead guitar.

History began for Bobby Vee on February 3, 1959 when the American rock and roll musician Buddy Holly was killed in a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa.  Along in the crash were Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper.  Bobby Vee along with his group The Shadows filled in at the Moorhead Armory where Buddy Holly was flying to perform that evening. 

Among the songs that remain strong and performed today; Take Good Care of My Baby, Rubber Ball, Run to Him, Devil or Angel. One Last Kiss.  Bobby Vee was born Bobby Veline in Fargo, North Dakota.  Bobby Vee passed away Oct. 24, 2016.
